  1.   The land of Norumbega was a
  2. generally happy one.  Almost
  3. all of the regions got along
  4. well -- the country, city,
  5. sea, caverns . . .pretty much
  6. everything -- except for the
  7. Dark Quarter.
  8.   This is the land where the
  9. evil Fang Duck dwells. Sudden-
  10. ly, around a year ago, an urge
  11. stuck him to take over all of
  12. Norumbega and populate it with
  13. his minions, the ducks.
  14.   As war was virtually unknown
  15. in Norumbega, it seemed as if
  16.               1
  17. no one had the power to stop
  18. Fang Duck. That's where Peach
  19. stepped in.
  20.   Peach's coastal home, popu-
  21. lated by land crustacions, re-
  22. cieved word of the invasion
  23. much after the fact. For some
  24. reason or another, Fang Duck
  25. missed this community en-
  26. tirely.
  27.   Dismayed at the news, the
  28. community leaders called on
  29. peach, the fastest land lob-
  30. ster in Norumbega, to sneak in
  31. and oust Fang Duck. Fang Duck

  33. would not expect any attack;
  34. he would assume that he had
  35. destroyed all his adversaries.
  36.   Armed with a claw gun, not
  37. really a weapon, but the clos-
  38. est thing to it, Peach started
  39. his journey.
